About
  • Who We Are:
The Schaumburg Area Photographic Society or SAPS, founded in 1977, is a group of avid photographers who share an interest in photography.  Our members represent all levels of photographic expertise ranging from beginner through advanced amateur and professional and use all type of cameras from simple point-and-click to advanced level.  Our friendly members always welcome newcomers and guests!
  • What We Do:
SAPS is dedicated to the enjoyment of photography. Our lively group offers learning opportunities designed to help members expand and improve their photo imaging, editing capabilities, printing and image presentation skills.  Programs and workshops are held on meeting nights and consist of informative speakers, how-to demonstrations and hands-on workshops.  We periodically conduct exhibitions at local venues to showcase members' work.  Throughout the year there are numerous outings to desirable photographic locations.  We also perform volunteer photography for certain community events.
  • Where We Are Located:
Our photographers are from various northwestern Chicago suburban communities.  We meet at the Schaumburg Park District's Community Recreation Center in Schaumburg, 505 N Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg, IL 60194.
  • When We Meet:
We regularly meet on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month from September through June.  Details can be found on our Resources page.
